Falling Slowly - Lyrics, from the movie 'Once'
Falling Slowly, Lyrics by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova
Featured in the motion picture Once
I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along
Hey Colm Deighan here, I love this so much, I played it to my lovely girlfriend Amanda who I love so much.

I have not seen the movie, nor do I think I'll ever get too see it. But I'm totally taken up by "Falling Slowly".
However I fail to get the significance of the words as laid out. Could someone enlighten me ? Is it with reference to a particular episode of the film ?

Please tell me if the movie ONCE was a true story. I watched this movie and then my daughter and I watched it again. It was a very good story and the music was wonderful; I downloaded the whole album and am really enjoying listening to it.

I found the movie to be lovely and deeply heart felt. The sound track is moving and can be listened to over and over. So simple a story about people who dare to follow their dreams. 3 cheers for the Oscar win. So well deserved. Take note writers and film makers. A well told story is all that is needed.

REad about the movie in the best of list from a Dallas reviewer. Not sure what to expect. have seen it several times now and Blockbuster will probably charge me for it as well, but I dont care... one of thoes movies that comes along every now and then that tugs at certain emotions and feelings.....and stay with you long after.........soundtrack is next on my list of CD's

Most of the songs or the album are those you cannot stop listenting and listening again for hours...

I don't want to send my rented copy of this film back to Netflix. It is the best movie I have seen in many years. Once is now at the top of my favorite movies of all time list. I've watched it three times in as many days. It is to quote the main character of the film, "Brilliant!" To quote the girl, "I have to go."

I saw the movie with a dear friend of mine, and actually SHE wanted to see it... We JUST loved it. The next day we both bought the soundtrack. Not only will the songs remind me of that wonderful movie but also of my dear friend.
Thank you for posting the lyrics. It makes the pleasure complete

I saw this movie mentioned as a small indie film in a movie review show several months ago and wrote down the name. I rented it last night for me and my wife and we both loved it. I'm 60, but I could just as easily have been 16. It was so natural and innocent and clean. Bravo, for a wonderful time! Encore! I would very much like to see some of these people again in movies, particularly Marketa - translucent! Thank you. Big John

I think every musician should watch this movie. You get the same feeling from watching "Once" that you do when you're totally free and just rockin out.
But someone needs to figure out these tabs and post them. Who's got time to do it by ear???
