When Your Mind's Made Up, Lyrics by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova
Featured in the motion picture Once
So, if you want something
And you call, call
Then I'll come running
To fight, and I'll be at your door
When there's something worth running for
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to change it
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to stop it
You see, you're just like everyone
When the shit falls all you want to do is run, away
And hide all by yourself
When you're far from me, there's nothing else
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to change it
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point even talking
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to fight it
So, if you ever want something
And you call, call
Then I'll come running
I believe it is saying the lover is accepting the loved ones made up mind but should it change the lover will be there if the call comes
lovely lovely song ..makes me feel like I have felt once with a love that was over but feelings were felt but never spoken of again
congratulations

Thank you to Catherine for the chords
I found their progression to be as follows:
verses:
C Am G F
refrain:
Am G F
the chords are simple, but the strum pattern is tough to get down!
good luck! Great Song!

I believe the lyric is: "when theres NOTHING worth running for" rather than SOMETHING. Certainly this would be the more interesting, evocative, poetic, sweet, and mysterious. If its not NOTHING, it certainly should be.

Catherine, I think it's somewhere in the middle. I think he's saying "You've made up your mind, you want to be alone, and there's nothing I can do. I'll always love you, but I'm done fighting, so if you ever decide you need someone, call me and I'll be there."

So, my husband and I have a disagreement with this song. I think he's saying "I've made up my mind that I love you so there's no point in fighting it, whatever you say." Husband thinks he's saying "so you're leaving me and you're mind's made up. Fine then." One is romantic, the other jaded. Which do you think it is?

The chords are simple in a way, the way it is played is not quite so simple.
Basic chords are C G F for the verse lines, and
Am G F for the chords
